Default need a hand

my 88 1000f is having a problem. the bike won't start but the starter turns over and the thing i found is when i turn the switch to the maker lights right before i lock the forks and the maker lights will not work. and in the manual the main wiring harness is tyed into the marker switch and i'm wondering is this a tell tail to my problem.

Only my tail light works in that position. Don't know if yours is on. The engine needs gas, air and spark to run. You can check to see if there is gas in the carb. check to see if you are getting spark. Also check to make sure your voltage is OK. Keep us posted of what you have found. Welcome to the CBRF!!!

Well if the starter is turning and the motor ain't turning over -----chances are it's the starter damper

The easy way first. Lift the tank, pull a plug and check for spark. With the plug out after cranking, check to see if it is wet (mouse nest in air box). Doesn't the '88 have a fuel pump? Maybe that is not working.

Even if there is spark, air and fuel in the carbs, they won't start when cold without being enriched.

Doesn't the '88 have a fuel pump?
Yes they do.
