Default Motor Mounts?

Good Morning fellow riders,

I tried doing a search to answer my question, but did not find anything. I'm wondering how the motor in a CBR1000F is attached to the frame. Are there rubber bushings at all, or is it bolted directly to the frame? I ask because I feel what I would call backlash somewhere in the drive train. Between acceleration and deceleration, I can feel a slight clunking...as if there were clearance between something that was being taken up. I did see that my cush spacers were worn, so I replaced them. That helped, but I still feel that backlash. Chain is adjusted correctly. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

That's exactly what a worn out chain feels like. How old is yours?
Check every link for play... I'd bet that you find some.

What Demon says!

Plus you may need to check the 'cush' rubbers in the rear wheel sprocket mount.

Let us know how you go.

Thanks for steering me in the direction of the chain. I replaced the cush drive dampers already because I saw slack between the sprocket and wheel. The backlash is better, but not enough. So there must be another contributor to this feel. I'll check the chain when it warms up a bit. I started looking at replacement chains and sprockets, but am having a little trouble deciphering the tech specs. Number of links, teeth, etc. I just want stock. Does anybody have that info? Thanks!

I'm in the process of removing the wheels to put new tires on. And I'm also considering replacing the chain and sprockets. But before I took the rear wheel off, I rotated it by hand CW and CCW to look for play in the drive system. With the bike in 1st gear, I was able to rotate the wheel in both directions quite a bit before rotation was stopped by the transmission. Is this normal? It seems like a lot of play. Is this why I'm feeling the backlash I described in the beginning of this post?

Yeah, pretty much normal. Depending on how much slop is in the chain will add or reduce it some. Then there's the slop in the tranny gears plus the primary chain slop between the crank and tranny. It all adds up.
