It seems that the world supply of new OEM MkI CCT's has dried up. There are still MkII CCT's available.

Are they reverse compatible?

 

I was going to purchase one from an SC21 87/88. Will this fit an SC24 89/90? I also need that question answering?

 

If it doesn't fit an SC24, just go ahead and buy it anyway. Woof or I will buy it off you.

 

I checked the drawings on the Honda Partzilla site and it looks like they modified it so I decided to keep my pennies until I find the correct one.

What did they modify on the cam chain tensioner between the 87 and 89 bikes then?

 

Back when they were available from the OEM suppliers, the original part number was superceded by an alternate part#. Don't know if that part# was an improved version of the original or one of the other years. They don't print the second number on the parts list anymore

 

Have a look on the CMSNL site, they do both numbers on there I think.

 

I forgot about this, the guy still has it for sale.
