Metzeler Z6's in wet
Okay at the risk of sounding like a smart ***.....
Why the hell are you spinning your engine up and past 7k in the wet???? I think ANY tire is going to start protesting especially on the 'bird!
For what it's worth, the Z6's have been stellar in the wet for me. And in all the tire tests I have seen, they are one of the top if not the top rated tire in the wet.

Pulling the engine past 7 k in wet is no problem whatsoever if the line is straight and the temperature is more than + 15 deg C or so, and I'm also always very soft on the throttle in curves during wet conditions. The problems I have noticed now is that the rear slides very easy even when driving quite slowly in corners and it can spins also at low revs like 5 k RPM on straights. I’ve now learned the hard way that this is what to expect during cold and wet conditions, especially with 42 PSI pressure both front and rear. The background for being surprised, except for being overly optimistic/dumb (highlight the word you want), is that I've never got a spin on straights in wet before, and have used almost full lean downs in wet conditions with soft power delivery. That has been in warmer conditions and with Michelin Powers, but still with a much stronger bike (the GSX R1000). I have also seen that the Z6 scores next to top in wet tests, which mislead me to trust the wet grip to much. I guess I've realised what most bikers have known al the time, the need to take it very easy in wet conditions. What some bikers don’t know though, is how fast you can run on a track in wet when the temperature is good.
The link showed exactly how my Z6 rear was whan I binned it.
At this time the very centre was alarmingly thin so this is the minimum I'd go to.
Luckily for me the main storm season here came when my Z6s were fairly new and maybe most of the tests were done on fairly new tyres. In my experience no tyre is good toward the end of it's life in the wet so as my tyres wear I back off in the wet more and more. Maybe it's just because I'm an old fart....
Keep it black side down!!
