Talking Just dropping in...

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd say hi again.

I haven't been here in ages. Since I got my new bike fining the motivation for fixing the CBR is difficult, especially when I can't figure out the problem with it and cant be arsed spending the lost of $$$ it would take a mechanic to fix it.

You guys have done a great job with the layout, sections and stickies etc. Much beter than when this forum 1st started.

Hope you are all well.

Cheers
Rob

G'day Rob. What's up with the CBR?

The guys have done a great job. I joined about a year after you and got some good help and sympathy when that chair attacked my bike in the shed. The Saloon was a great idea! BTW, what's your new bike? If you've posted it already I either missed it or I've forgotten (combo of age and beer).

The has a few minir problems but its a pain. All the o-rings and gaskets that are in the coolant pipes are rotted. ***** of a job as you have to remove most of the bike to get to it all.

But by far the biggest problem is the massive amount of black smoke at High RPM and fuel usage.

I've done every single thing you can think of when you think its running to rich to no avail.

That's no good mate. You'd have already tried anything I can think of for sure....restricted air flow etc. Did it start to play up gradually or all of a sudden?

On the bright side though, it'd make it harder for the cops to get your rego.

Do all 4 plugs look the same? What happens when you pull the air filter?????

If it's not rich at lower RPM, I would tend to say the main jets need to be dropped a bit.

Two running bikes are better than one.....

No air blockages.

Airfilter is fine.

Its something that has slowly happened.

Plugs look a little on the black side.

The only thing I can think of is that the Emulshion tubes are worn and fuel is getting sucked up between the tubes on body of the barb. But as the tubes are not replaceable ya screwed.

I'm going to wait until I see a set of Flatslides on Ebay that I can afford.

They always make a bike go like a shower of ****.

I think there was a similar problem some time back. I remember someone replacing the seals or diaphragm in the enrichners. They were rotted. You may want to have a look.
