But the rattle has faithed away after changing oil and filter and adjusting idle...

Well. I did change the oil and filter. And the idle is perfect. I think. I want to take her to work but I'm rather worried, its a 35 mile run and mostly highway.

Well my idle was low on neutral. And still when I give tourqe then it gets a bit lower than 1 for a while and after around 3 to 5 sec it rises to steady idle.

I go to work every day. And have no problems.

U can do as I did... make a video of cold start engine running and a warmed up vid. Post on youtube and then links here. U can see my vids aswell.

There are really amazing knowledged companions here!

If the bike is otherwise roadworthy and with the weekend coming up. Take it out for a shakedown cruise. I wouldn't push her too hard. Just get a feel for her and make sure you have someone to come get you if things go south

I wish I could this weekend, but I'll be in west Lafayette seeing my girl. (Much needed) but ya I was thinking of.doing that. Taking here down Lagrange (a road by my.house that has a speed limit of 55 and is like a small highway through a forest preserve) and my bro just picked a new silverado today so I can put it in his truck if need be. And I will record the cold start and warm start as well. Thank you everyone for the advice and help. I truly do appreciate it. If I ever become a millionaire, (hopefully :-P ) I wot forget the help lol.

Good luck. Mines a bit noisy as well and sprock suggested a carb sync and a balancer shaft adjustment. Might be worth a try. Id still take her out and get a better feel for the bike first though.

20/50 weight oil and valve adjustments if ya really get bored and want the
smoothest ride possible

Obviously valves should be adjusted first

well i already changed the oil 20/50 and filter. and she did sound a little better but still kind of rough. but i noticed that when i **** she does this really nice low tone growl which i love. and as for the valve adjustments and carb sync and clean, well im mechanically inclined but not at that level and i dont have any of the proper tools for such a project. i wish i had someone out in chicago to swing by and assist me. heck id even pay them for the help.
