I have the alternator cap off, but am unable to remove and inspect the stator winding. I can see its burnt at the bottom but can't seem to persuade it to come out. Any hints? I really don't wanna break the cap since I couldn't even find a stator. Going to be rewinding it myself. Thanks guys.

 

Well, I got it. I feel pretty stupid because I actually looked right at the soldered contact points before trying to rip it out. No harm no foul though, it's all getting rewired anyway.
