No I didnt add or change any oil, I wassnt running it at high rpms to see if she'll slip, she slips with just the smallest amount of throttle. I am guessing that the clutch will need replaced. But everytime I read about clutches going out, it was a gradual beginning, like only slipping at high rpms, when it started I could not move the throttle more then a 1/4 turn w/o slipping, now its with just the slightest turn now. and all in all it was just a few miles. Oh well looks like I will have to order a new clutch kit.

Hey:

It could have been done by the thieves that stole your bike, who knows what they did to it as you have not had it back that long have you or your crash who knows?

Dub, my thoughts exactly ......probably kept trying to wheelie her etc and burned up the
clutch but good in the process........ may have saved her in the end when they got fed
up with it !

Well i replaced the clutch last week, and all is well again. I was wondering what a worn clutch looks like, cause i think mine looked good when i took it out. All the steel plates were clean, and the fiber plates, appeared fine. Meaning i coild still see the teeth on the plates.

Look a bit glazed to me from slipping and steel plates show scoring / wear
Maybe last time they got changed all that was done was fiber plates , no new
steels and no new springs !

Actually I think its an EBC sport clutch kit. the kit I got was used(short on funds) but in good shape. The fiber plates were a differnt color, plus the steel plates looked different than the ones out of my bike, they had a sorta design on em. I took all the plates, and springs and switched em. The guy I bought it from said it had 16k on the clock. So I figured I could get a few miles out of em.

The old plates and fibers still had some oil one em, so that could be the glazed look, but I have no idea, this was my first clutch job on a bike. PS it is soooooooooooo much easier then on my truck.
