Default Help fastwith alternator

Hello all,
I figured out that the alternator is not charging. I tried to remove it but it is hung up on something. Does anyone know how to remove the alternator?
Thank you for the advice in advance

The alternator cover is fastend with 3 bolts from the left hand side. Then you can pull the cover straith out.
Have you measured the charging output?

Oh, the cover comes out and not the WHOLE thing? I took out, or tried to, pull the whole piece. It seems to be hung up on something. I will test the output tonight. It should come out in AC, right?

I did test the bike at the battery with the bike running and got a reading of 11.75 V. As the RPM increased, it would go lower by a hundreth or so. I will test it before the rec/reg. If there is a good reading, it has to be a bad reg/rec.
Does this sound correct? I am used to working on suzukis but some problems are common to all machines with similar systems.

I will let you know tomorrow what the readings are. Any advice is appreciated.

Thank You hronnes

Wow, nice guide.
I figured it is the regulator/rectifier. I get a low reading to the battery but a good AC reading from the alternator.
Where do I get a good regulator?

I have good AC from the alternator. The rectifier is cooked, getting nothing from it. It happened when I was sitting in traffic for about 5 min, not moving. The back of it had some bluing going on.

I found one that is aftermarket for $100. A local dealer was selling it. It is 25% bigger and being made of aluminum, it has cooling fins. It looks better and the bike is charging again!!!! He has more in stock if anyone needs, I will help get it to you, I know how hard it was to find one for myself.

Thank God

You might want to look into Tripps regualtor cooling setup. I cooked my second one in two months because it overheated.
