Hi Guys.. this is my first post, desperate for your help..
i have a 93 cbr 1000 f . the last time i toke her out i noticed she was smoking, (not bad but you knew it was there) i've had her around a year and its allways been a bit 'clanky' bottom end (ish). last few times out she was hard to start, but now wont start .. yesterday it went but sounded like a bag of spanners...(maybe not firing on all 4...
all 4 spark and if i take a plug out its wet...
wot the hell is up with it....

 

it might the piston ring is worn

 

A little smoke on startup isn't a major problem if she's been standing a while, especially on the sidestand as the oil runs to the side of the tapetcover and can sometimes run down into a valve ..........
The bucket of bolts is probably the camchain rattling - also not a major issue of the noise goes away after a minute or two.
Pull the plugs, clean them properly and make sure your battery has a good charge.
Try again

Let us know, and if it doesn't work, we'll start fault finding.

 

Thanx shadow tryed that with brand new plugs and battery..

 

A little history would help too, like mileage, has it been serviced regular,does it use a lot of fuel/oil, has it been looked after? etc...........

only had her around 6 months... she doesnt look like she been looked after..
oil seems ok.. maybe a bit heavy on fuel..
milage hard to say not orginal speedo.

Does it have spark ? If not, can be the CDI unit has died, maybe a defective kill switch, sidestand switch - quite a few things it can be.......You'll need to tell us what you've checked so far apart from fitting new plugs and battery.

 

all 4 spark... and all 4 look wet..

 

Might be a bit obvious, but whats the air filter like? whip it out and try to start it, if it starts dont run it for very long.
Are the plugs wet with petrol or oil?
When it misbehaved before and was hard to start was it a "first start on a couple of pots then the rest slowly came to life" or was it more of a "wont start turns over a lot and then does start"?
What colour was the smoke?
