and yer , that heat is quite normal and is great when it gets chilly!!! ...
(down to 65-70F degs )..and yer, that was for our mates being frosticle-ised ATM in the US ...LOL
Thanks, steve!

Yep, heat is normal. Like a couple others said, it's real nice on the cold riding days in the 40s (F), and on cold mornings.

On the hot days, the only time it really bothers me is at lights.
I just stretch my legs out... no problem!

Yep. Anytime you sit on an internal combustion engine in warm weather you're going to get a bit warm. The shielding that I put on my old girl has been a worthwhile mod. I think what really needs to be done is just stop the air flow through the gaps where the fairing joins the tank & side covers. Even with the insulation that I have on mine I still feel the heat come through but nothing like before. It's now bearable even in 40+ deg temps. It also seems to cause the bike to run a touch cooler??

Is this normal, it was felt mainly around the leg area.

Please spare us the leg shots Johnno . Riding in 36 c it's always going to cook you mate, it's the same for all of us. Ride fast and have plenty of cold beers in the fridge. When you get home stuff a couple down the legs of your strides and a couple straight down your throat....works every time

I had the same problem even ended with blisters on my tighs, what i did is used adhesive foam strips that you use to seal the doors before winter to make sure no warm is escaping, i did this on the side panels junction, no more heat waves and it seems the bike is runnbg cooler because i think the original airflow was restored.

Anyway it works... no more blisters for me.

I dont recall mine being that hot on my legs(of course it's winter now). But I know the motor is getting up to temp because the cooling system does not like sitting at traffic lights!
my other bike is naked, and it will toast my legs! In comparison, maybe thats why I dont feel the hurricane is so hot.

The heat from the Blackbird is the same. ****ing terrible on a hot day. I think the BB is worse than the 1000F with heat on the legs. Like everyone else says though its good in winter. Going out for a blat 2mrw on the 1000F and its gonna be 30 degrees C. Will see how she goes.
