Default Headlight problems

The other day I noticed my headlight was out. Sometimes when the key is turned to on the light is on then goes off after the bike is started. Sounds like a loose wire to me but I thought I would see if this has happened to anyone else before I take it apart. Also when i switch to high beam the warning light on the instrument panel does not come on.
Thanks!

I would get onto it.

Bad contacts can cause all sorts of shenanigans to happen.

Yep, something is screwy in there. All you can really do is trace it down.
