Awesome, that sounds good to me from my research and feedback it will be the pilot rd2's. my front is still in really good shape so i am just going to go for a rear at the moment. hopefully i will be able to wear the front tire out with the new rd 2. I made a 800 mile journey this past weekend and I have noticeable flat spots in the center. anyone think it would be a bad idea to run the different tires

The problem with running different tyres is the warm up times and the profile differences.

Different manufacturers tyres warm up at different rates - if you happen to go too quick when one is not up to temp it could have you off.

The profiles of the tyres are also matched to get the handling the designer wants. The conti road attacks have a very rounded profile that feels smooth to tip in to a corner. The michelins however have an angular profile that lets the bike fall in to a corner quickly.

Mixing those two would upset the balance of the bike.

PR2 for me, superb grip both wet and dry. They inspire a lot of confidence.
