How good of a tire is.....
I had great grip and about 4000 miles out of mine. I'm a little rough on tires, no burnouts or anything, but quick accelerations and hard corners. I thought the 208's were no longer made?
They're on the bike I recently purchased. Front and back. Front looks to be almost new but the back looks like it has about 50-60% use left. I have put about 2000 miles on it myself in the past month and a half and they still look like they did when I got it.I am just trying to prioritize things I need to do to it and I wanted to make sure they were a decent tire for now.
they are decent tires. many will tell you different...but it's mostly in the rider. only when you start to push the bike extremely hard, like track conditions will you be able to truly tell the difference in the tires. if you're very smooth in your riding and cornering, they will be great tires. i rode through 4 sets of them before i went with diablos.
I put D208's on my 900RR, and I loved them. Got a set for my race bike (SV650S), and hated them! I think different tires work well on different bikes. I'm running Dunlop DOT race tires on the SV now, and it's like a whole new bike. I'd buy another set of D208 tires for the CBR though.
Motorcycle engineers have a particular tire in mind when they design the bike. Yes, certain tires work well on certain bikes.
When the end user changes tires, they usually do not account for this in the setup (suspension/ geometrychanges).
