Front Brake Lever Binding

Man, it sounds like we're in the same boat...big time.
My lever did the EXACT same thing. It wouldn't bind if I put upward pressure on it when I pulled it back.
It was also much better with downward pressure, but not as good as upward.
I'd say you have the same problem....
Put a dab of grease on it, and work it a bunch. It will still bind a little at first, but will loosen up quickly.
There is also a big ride here in my hometown this Sunday the 7th. It's the VA Hospital Charity ride that I really enjoy. 2,200 bikes last year.
I was psyched about going again this year, but I'm leaving town tomorrow morning so I can't ride!!

Did you have to pull anything apart or did you just jam grease in it?
I had posted about a clinking noise up front but it did not take.
If you are getting a clinking noise up front, it is the needle bearings in the LBS bracket on the left side (if you have LBS).
