It's huge! I guess with that mammoth heat-sink like that, you wont have to worry about it overheating. It looks like the old Ford regulators from the 80's

I was wondering why there is a spare fuse in top of the battery? Are there fuses located elsewhere other than the left front fuse box up front?

yep that's the spare fuse for the pulser coil (I think it's that one), wich is behind the right hand side cover.

Yep, main fuse ....-30 A I think, situated by the starter solenoid, inside a rubber housing

When I cook 'em, they STAY cooked !! Pics of my last one, huge heatsink and all.
All the black areas are burnt areas.....hmmmmmmm !![:@][:@]

Can you please list the colour connections you used from bike loom to this regulator. eg

Bike loom wire = yellow to Regulator wire ???????
Bike loom wire = yellow to Regulator wire ???????

Bike loom wire = red/white to Regulator wire ???????
Bike loom wire =black to Regulator wire ???????
Bike loom wire =white to Regulator wire ???????

We THINK it was burnt field coil in the stator.Ohms resistance was up at 3.5 instead of 2.6 which will fry a reg/rec over time....it was under guarantee so they gave me another one (1 year from www.electrex.uk)6 months on off road stuff. Daniel's one in Argentina(Espel) gives 2 years - excellent !
And on the wiring issue, the colours are matched by same colours from the reg rec
3 Yellow - stator
red/white - power to battery
Green - to chassis etc etc.
If the colours don't match, be careful....

Having been faced with this issue I researched and made this following conclusion. The facts that enabled me to make this conclusion is contained in the pdf file as linked. Hope this helps others and save you the time it took me to do the research separating the facts from the "beliefs".
