Exhaust
I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice on an exhaust system for my CBR1000F. I have a 97 model which I very much enjoy but am tossing up the idea of buying a blackbird but am not sure if I can justify the cost when what I have is fine. I'm probably answering my own question. Anyway I think that if I can get mine to sound a bit better (deeper note) then it may keep me amused for a bit longer. Does anyone have any recommendations.

RE: Exhaust
If you can settle for an slip-on instead of a whole system this could be a alternative (see link to thread)Scorpion slip-on thread
I am very satisfied with the sound and look, I was never looking for more hp, just better sound and looks. I have been assured in private e-mail from Scorpion that it doesn´t restrict hp when running without dB-killer.

RE: Exhaust
... heh.. well...
OK. My first try was with a slim Vance&Hines muffler, but that was way too loud.
My second attempt (the one I am using now) is with a aftermarket 2" car muffler. Sounds better/deeper and not too loud when driving slow. Don't look so good with the saddle of thoug. The V&H looked better. But I am not riding with my saddle of so it's OK.
There are 2 things when having exhaust under seat:
1. You must raise the rear (easy done by shortening the "dog bone").
2. The seat melts if not protected (learned that the hard way).

RE: Exhaust
Honda Hurricane dug this one out of archives. Just wondering when you done the on under the tail exhaust. Why you ran the exhaust pipe around the swingarm. I had some measurements taken tonight of my stripped wrecked 93, and it looks like if you bend a 1 3/4" pipe around the rear shock assembly. There is enough room between the rearof swingarm and the tire to run the exhaust pipe up and over this away. But this is only looking from a perspective of someone that has not actually perform the transformation, could you give me some insight on this. And Yes, for Those Who Do Not Know, I Had a Bad Crash and Posted a Very Lengthy Thread. Under Off-Topic, I Will Not Be Deploring to the Sandbox Anytime Soon and with the CBR in raw form. I decided to make some mods, while repairing her after I get back on my feet. First just want to get a game plan together of course. Also remember seeing a thread about using a GSXR triple tree and fork assembly as a mod, but can't seem to find the thread. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated
