Electricity - Not So Much
#21
I have what appears to be the same charger - it has different graphics on it, but otherwise appears to be the same. I put the "bad" battery on it last night - I'll test it this afternoon.
I have AGM's in three other bikes - all on BatteryTenders - and have had no problems with any of them. Yes, the "less than perfect" ground I'm sure was an issue - but my real concern now is with the inventory of batteries and their chargers.
The Deltran site says these are good for essentially all batteries. Does anyone have definite info on their suitability - or lack of it - for AGM batteries?

The poor ground may have been responsible for the low battery power. It may not have been getting a proper charge. A new battery can be ruined if it is not fully charged up front.
I use a solar charger to keep batteries up. You can take it camping or anywhere there is no power but sun. I don't have cordless power tools. I bought a marine battery to run my corded tools with an inverter and recharge the battery with the panel.
I also use this system as my back up heating source if I loose power in the winter, I have steam heat and only need to open the gas valve and other low voltage, low amp things like the flue and starter.
The controller becomes a desulfator once the battery is up.
