No way you can do the shift fork without dropping the motor and splitting the cases
on this motor the way it's contained - I could see it being done on a single and perhaps
a twin or v motor depending on the bike but one method does not necessarily apply
to all.

But then again you are a man of multiple talents it appears so it would be a wonderful
thing to be proven wrong

It's split and sitting in the garage, had to buy special bolt removerers sockets (irwin). The previous guy who split it over torqued the bolts and I stripped the heads trying to get them out(FYI 15/32" fits better then 12mm). But I could tell the gears were replaced they looked like new (even the dog ears still had sharp corners lol). But the shift drum had wear on the center shifter grove were it moved the gears into place. As well the left shifter was bent or kind of hooked a bit.
Going be a while since I have to buy the replacement of new crank shaft bolts($100+). And preferably a new cam chain, oil chain, and god knows what else lol.

jeez who'd put new gears in and leave a worn shift drum , no wonder the shifter
was bent.

Try Partzilla for bolts - you'd be surprised !

Like I mentioned in another post. Plastic was all chewed up. Thinking it was all rebuilt then still got dump on a low side so hence the bent fork though the grinded shift drum still makes me wonder. After taking it apart looks more like first (or what I assume is first gear) was grinding it. Yea partzilla is only place to get the bolts. Unless I convert the holes to M10 which I doubt I will. Since I would have to split the top end to do that (no thank you lol)

(EDIT 4-11-14 $120 dollars from partzillia for complete bolt set crank shafts bolts were the most expensive, but rather use new ones than old ones.)
