Default Dead battery.

I have a noob question, my battery completely died on me, I jump started it and let it run for 1/2 hr, when I tried to started it wouldn't start, the question is , should I just recharge the battery over night so it is completely charged? or could it be another issue?
The battery is new, BTW

Yep, you need to charge it on a charger.
If you just let the bike run at idle, it won't charge a battery at all (in fact, it will discharge it more)
The bike will only charge above like 3k rpms.

I agree with Kilgoretrout about what he said. You need to ride it for about 2 hours and then see if it will start. If it does, put it away for over night. The next day if it does not start it is the R/R draining the battery or some other leaking component.

And then.........................once/if it has started, ride it for a while (an hour or so) and if it won't start, then one of two things is wrong, either the battery is toast or your reg/rec is cooked.
