RE: cbr 1000f wont cut off
all lights are off while riding bike, no problems at all.
idleing in gear with clutch in, no problem.
put into neutral, starter motor continually turns over while engine is running. kill switch does not turn off engine.
put into 1st gear then kill switch will stop engine.
take keys out, neutral light remains on, still in 1st.
put into neutral with no keys in or touching any buttons and bike will start and starter motor goes continuous.
bike is at friends house at mo so cant go try anything till weekend. have printed all your suggestions so will have a go then... gracias amigo

From the wiring diagram I think I can see the problem. There is a starting rectifier that may have gone bad. If the diodes in it have failed, power can leek back to the neutral light. This rectifier is directly wired to the neutral switch, clutch switch and the neutral light.Through the clutch switch it is wired to the side stand switch. From the diagram, current could pass through the neutral bulb (when the bike is shifted to neutral) and trigger the starter relay. It has three wires going to it; Lg/R, Lg and G/R.
