My 90' CBR 1000f wont stay running
Just recently purchased a 90' hurricane 1000f with 45k original miles on it. Currently having some running trouble. When i got it the radiator fan wasnt coming on and would over heat sitting still, so i tested the sensor like in these forums somewhere said, pulled the fan off and hard wired it to make sure it was just the fan and not a wireing problem. its the fan. so i put the radiator back on, (minus the fan cause it is bad and i will be getting a new one) cause i wanted to ride it since i just got it and it was running beautiful. Long story short, i went to start it back up after re attaching the radiator. It ran for a lil bit (like 3-5min) and then died everytime i gave it throttle, like it was bogging down, and Now it wont crank. will turn over fine and sound like it wants to run but wont hold a idle. I did lift the tank to geta better view of the connector for the fan but that was all. Like i said ran beautifuly before i took down the raditor. Where would i post this or is this a good enough spot? Any help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks
Mate, a couple of things springs to mind. A pinched vacuum hose from the petcock to the carbs or you dislodged some crap in the tank when you tipped it up.
It sounds like fuel so check by disconnecting the fuel line and vacuum tube from the carbs, then suck on the vac line with the fuel turned on. Fuel should flow freely. You should hear a click when the valve opens.
I could be miles off but those were my first thoughts.
See how you go and get back to us. Some of the others might have a few more ideas to try.
Cheers,
Dave.

Low miles for sure!!! :-?)
... but she still has been around way long enough to have a nice build up of chit in the carbs !!!!
I do not usually bother with these posts these days because om sick of repeating myself and allot of the other guys usually chime in rather quickly mate , but for you Baliz , I will make a rare exception this time !! lolol
Questions ?
How long since she was started before you got her ?
Did you drain old fuel and replace with new when you got her ?
Have you stripped the bowls to see how clean her carby bits are ???
Has she been tuned in a while ?
Have you checked the plugs for good color ?
Have you cleaned, checked , or more to the point replaced the fuel filter ( if she has one? )
Does it look like any!! of the lines / hoses have been disconnected under the tank before ???
Have you tried running some carb cleaner in the tank for a while to see if that helps ??? ( and that will take an hour or more at the least!! )
............
The key to a good, or more accurate diagnosis from these forums , is detailed INFORMATION !!!!!!!!!!

2. I didnt think there was a need so i haven't
3. I haven't got into her guts yet seeing as i dont have the funds to accomplish all that as of yet
4. I would say no, hasnt been tuned in a while but she was running great yesterday
5. Not sure what u mean by good color, but its getting spark it sounds like it wants to pop off
6. I have checked the fuel filter, there is some dirt in there but i've seen dirtier in still running cars
7. Looks like never been disconnected since the factory
8. Have not tried carb cleaner in the tank. Nor do i entirely understand what u mean. Just spray carb cleaner in the tank with the gas?
Also she mighta got wet with the side fairings and cowels off, if that could make a dfference. Any information any one else needs i will be happy to provide, I am a newb when it comes to motorcycles, this is my first, i come from a car back ground and am semi-mechanically inclined. Pics and Vids if needed can also be provided if needed.

Well turns out there was nothing wrong with except when i lifted the tank i loosened the fuel lines coming out of the tank the previous owner i suppose didnt put the fuel line clamps back on correctly and they slipped out a lil, but were still on the *** just not making a vaccume seal i reckon. Thanks a bunch guys
