Is it me or those wires look stipped and touching each other?

yes the wires are bare lol i had to hot wire it to get it home. i was on a run round the coast road stoped for a smoke and a drink turned her of and would'nt start but there is good news got the new switch fitted and working thanks to hammer chisel hacksaw

So did you manage to just cold chisel the heads off the bolts? Or were they rivets after all?

they are security bolts when they are put on in the factory the nut shears of and leaves what you seen in the picture so i used a small cold chisel to loosen then screwed them out with a pair of fine pliers but i had to take the yoke of to do this then cut across it with a hacksaw to reuse them

But ofcourse. I should have known better. Now that you mentioned it, remember seeing the very same thing on a late 80's Honda CRX (car). the way we ficed that ingniton was to leave the lock cylinder in place (that's the oen held by the sheered bolts) and only removed the actual isgnition switch (the ones with the small screws) from the back of the lock cylinder. Can the same thing be done here as well?

You re-used them..., I think I would have sprung for a couple of new Torx bolts.
