Default cam chain cbr1000f

Need a little help, installed new cam chain tensioner cant get the chain over intake cam sprocket. I did not put oil in cct. depressed spring to release tension, could not get chain loose enough to go over intake sprocket. Is it possible i dont have the crank sprocket with chain completely in the sprocket? Dont have the cam covers complete tight, do I have to have tehm bolted down? Any ideas ?

Wish I knew that the other day when I corrected the cam timing in my bike. I levered at the back of the tensioner but didn't want to advise anyone else to try it. (I removed exhaust sprocket so I could move chain along.

Default update!

Well I "finally" got the sprocket on. Cam chain was not on crank, even though I tied it up before installing new cct. Chain skipped off the crank, rolled crank slightly chain dropped into place, I think this was the most difficult part off a cct replacement. As with most having the cct making noise, the old one would not expand , cleaning the old cct may be an alternative, saving the old one just as a back up, Thanks all of your help.
Next valve adjustment, oil, radiator, and exhaust gaskets. Thanks again!
