Battery
My battery got flat a little the other day when I got the bike out, hasn’t been ridden for a couple of weeks
Yes I know, I'm a slack bastard...
Anyway, it cranked, but a little slow and started to wear down, so I stopped before it wound down too much and jumped it with the jump pack.
This is the second time I’ve done this, during the ride, all was good and would stop and restart fine, so I just have a weak battery.
The battery is about two years old, so what would an average life on a CBR battery be and should I be using a battery saver to top the charge up.
Also, are these bike easy to clutch start, I'm aware that if the battery is dead flat, it properly wont ever start.

I've gone through my share of batteries over the life and finally got wise with the battery tender and checking the fluid level. Most of the time (the past 2 or 3 batteries) mine did just what you described and after I got home and still had slow starting issuesI checked the fluid level, low in one or more cell. Cooked the battery by trying to crank on it with a dead cell. Top off the fluid to the upper mark and charge for overnight on a 1A charger. If it still does the same thing you may have dammaged a one of the cell's. Every couple of weeks (1000 miles or so) I check the levels on the current battery and if I'm not riding the next day or two I hook up the battery tender. I'm coming up on the third season in FL with this battery and I average 12-15k per year so it's sees a bit of use.
So far the Battery is mostly OK, If I get the bike out, and it starts more or less, straight away, then I'm good.
If it starts to wind down, I get the jumper out before is winds to low.
once the bike is warm, it starts quickly and the battery is good.
I will just have to be carful, When it gets too bad, I will get a new one, but I will have to look at ways to keep it in better condition

Hey for the battery issue i had to replace mine and i figured a PWC (jet ski) battery would work same size and just a little more cells well believe it or not my 94' starts right up as soon as i tap the start button and there hasnt been any lag no dimming of the lights nothing of that sort and i had the battery in now a little over a month and i had it parked for 2 weeks with no riding cause of vacation time with the "old lady" haha im 21 talking like im 40 lol but anyway if you are interested in trying this battery i can give you the specs on it!
I've put this off, cause it isn't a problem, had to jump the bike on some weekends, but once stated, it's good for the day.
I'm am now at the stage where the battery will just turn the bike over, so I have to jump it every weekend, still OK for the day.
Will have to get a new once sooner than latter now
Any recommendations for a battery, do I go standard or the new sealed units (or Jet ski battery)?
Thanks
