"Factory yellow" HUH ??
To my knowledge, none of the Hurricanes or CBR1000F's ever came out in that colour.
One year had yellow triangular panels..........
If you want to look at the colours they DID come out in, go to

You'll find the colours and years of manufacture there.
Don't jumpstart the bike off a running vehicle.
If it has a "weak" starter, it may be the starter clutch, which would mean that the bike has done WAY more mileage than is shown on the clock - unless it's 116000.......which is believeable as these engines can run longer than that easily.

sounds to me like its the alternator dampner...I say factory yellow from looking inside the plastics...even under all of the insulation material the plastic is painted yellow...I didnt think it came in yellow, but I have seen yellow tanks on ebay that have the decals and stuff...if its not factory then whoever painted it did a great job on it.
one question....why do you say not to jump start the bike? what can happen? this is how he got the bike started to show me it ran...there was no battery in it...he used an industrial battery charger from a shop to start it. I never actually looked to see if it had 16k on it or not, but judging from the condition of it...I would believe it had that many, but the seat is also worn pretty good so it just might have alot more than that, but it was at least well cared for....im buying it....

maybe the owner before this guy replaced the gauges from another bike...I know the exhaust and seet and gas cap are aftermarket so who knows what else he did...didnt catch the "running" part...I will keep that in mind...I can see where an over voltage might damage the cdi...I guess there is no real way of know just how many miles are on this bike, but it runs great and looks so im not terribly worried about the miles. I can fix it myself.
