Default Another cam chain question

So my bike has 34k on it and it has a little rattle from 1500 to 2500k rpm . Im assuming it is the CC , but the bike supposidly had after market cams installed and i would have hoped they changed the chain then . I tried the balancer adjust but it is already at the last mark closest to top . How long can one ride with a noisy CC ? I know i had a 4 runner with the 22re that the CC tensioner and guides had wore out in and it ended up eating through the timing cover . I can do the CC swap , but i hope to at least get it through this riding season since i just got the bike and i have already had to spend $ on tires and other minor stuff .

Default RE: Another cam chain question

34k shouldnt be a problem to ride for the season. I have 46k on mine and its the origianl chain and I'm not tackeling it for a while. I've never heard of a chain actually breaking, it would take alot of wear to get to that point, however I would imaging that the longer you run on a chain that is really bad, would most likely wear out cam teeth and crank teeth pre-maturely. I cant imagine having to spend the time or money on that over-haul!
My old 85 Nighthawk had almost 80,000km on the original cam chain before I sold it and I think its still going.
