'96 Carb sync
well, it's quick, I will say that, top speed is less, (225 kph vs about 260 both with stock gearing), it doens't have the bottom end torque the hurricane does, and despite the brakes on mine (89) are twin floating disc, dual opposed piston calipers, with stainless steel brake lines, they just don't feel as good.. I find I get much more engine vibration, this engine doens't have a balancer shaft, the seat isn't as good, it's slippery I find. the front forks don't seem to be worth a rats ***, they don't dampen enough by far, coming down off a wheelie, they'll bottom out every time (no air suspension) even with the dampening set to maximum, and new 15W fork oil. honestly, I find it feels cheaply built.. yes, it's about 90 lbs lighter, and feels lighter than that, but the hurricane is just much more confidence inspiring, it feels like the tires are always going to be firmly planted on the road, and I dont' mind the weight, it makes for a very much smoother ride.. of course, to be able to give you a better review of the katana, i'd have to drive one that I know is in shipshape... then again, my hurricane is pretty beat up and seems to be doing much better
one thing more about the katana's brakes... i'm used to the EBC "hh" pads on the hurricane, and don't know what pads are in the katana.. so that could be SOME of the differance
hope I've been objective here

I was keen on the Katana, I like it's fairing and the money wasn’t too bad
It was a little small and I really wanted at least a 1 litre engine, I also wanted to double and I wanted a fat *** seat to put my butt on.
So, which is quicker

quicker or faster?, if you want to snap the throttle and do a wheelie, you know as well as I do the hurricane won't, it'll just settle down and book it, the katana will lift the front wheel... 1/4 mile times? probably close, with the hurricane taking it near the end.. if you're going to go for a long ride, and double, I'd take the hurricane anyday, you won't have to downshift for the hills, and you're not going to be totally numb after the ride, the katana may be a little more capable on a track day, but I think you'd want to put a steering damper on it
I'll trade you the katana for the hurricane
