carb sync HELP!!
I have a 95 CBR600 F3 with 97 carbs on it. I tried building my own carb sync tool but keep getting air bubbles in it. (lack of craftmanship) but my question is when you do a sync do you adjust the slow idle jets or do you adjust the the screws in between the carbs on top that contol the butterflies in the carbs. i have read it both ways. i have spent all summer working on this thing and have only got to ride a few times but never with full enoyment because around 5,000 rpm it stutters and wont go over 65 or 70. can anyone please help me out on this and what specific peices should i use to build a carb sync out of. i used aquariam line and fittings and mounted them on a wooden shelf and used tranny fluid for guaging. bike is all stock no mods. thanks

You want to adjust the screws between the carbs first, balance carbs #1&2 together then #3&4 together, then use the center screw to sync them all together. carb #3 is the base point, all others should conform to this ones vac level. after that you can perform the slow jet adjustments. Some small adjustments to the butterfly valves may be necessary after you do this but nothing major. check out musclecross.com in the forum section there is a good walk through for this procedure.

Okay....so im just an idiot....
I got my bike set up for the carb sync today. Went to Lowes and spent yet another 20 bucks building another manometer. I keep getting air bubbles in the fluid. When i first hooked it all up for the first thirty seconds or so it was doing fine. Got the first two cylinders synced and then lines filled with air bubbles. I can build a car from the ground up but just cant seem to get this one right...ughhh. can anyone PLEASE tell me exactly what peices i should use to build my carb sync????

That jerking you're experiencing isn't from carbs being out of sync. Sync problems are just off idle. There is a slight stutter when you hit the throttle and then it straightens out and runs fine (assuming everything else is in order). It sounds almost identical to having 1 pilot jet clogged. When you get your tool figured out, I'd be interested in hearing about it. I like my Motion Pro sync tool but glass tubes with mercury in them isn't exactly what I'd call safe.
