Default 87 missing 2nd

I keep making an azz of myself cause I forget to try and break my ankle when shifting second.

Is this the nature of the beast? 1987 1000F

Pull the shifter off and install it one notch in the downward position and see if that helps.

I do it every once in a while and I have rode the bike over a year. I only do it when I am doing a hole shot for kicks. Otherwise I almost always hit it.

I still do it on mine after 3 years. Usually when I am not concentrating or wearing different shoes.

The CBR has a long throw between 1st & 2nd

Is it physically hard to change or just uncomfortable?

I think just about every person on this forum have the same thing with 2 gear!!! We all slip it from time to time!! I had mine set for me and when I take a ride with different shoes I still do the same thing from time to time!! It takes a good hard long shift to get her in to 2!!! You will get use to her!!!

I have size 12 feet. No problems generating plenty of leverage.....

Okay, didn't know if my bike was defective...so basically it is the nature of the beast I will be sure to concentrate on 2nd instead of whats ahead of me
