How thick of medal did you use for the block offs

I used what I had just laying around and it was quite thick. Couldn't tell you the gauge though. A recommendation would be to used something thick enough that you can't bend in your hands. This will ensure that regardless of the amount of pressure or vacuum created you won't have a leak.

How did you seal it? Or did you just bolt them on

I used the best RTV I could find and then bolted them on.

I hope it works out for you. To be more specific, I used high temp RTV made for synthetic oils. I think it was a silver in color. It says it was mainly made for differentials and transfer cases. But it had the highest heat rating that I could find. Not to mention the synthetic oil protection was a plus.
