exhaust help
I have a 1997 cbr 900rr I have a jet kit and an m4 full exhaust. Would it hurt my bike power wise if I put on a jardine slip on exhaust on. The m4 that I have has a good size dent in it due to falling over in the garage. I also got the jardine for a good price.
Thanks
Thanks
Stock exhausts are a more restrictive than aftermarket, so, in my opinion, you will not be doing yourself any favors. Plus if you are already jetted for your M4, more than likely changes will have to be made for a correct setup. You can look for a machine shop that can probably fix the dented parts for cheap.

I figure using a slip on would be with an stock header, correct? Or I am I wrong in assuming that?

depending on models, some have a "slip on style" held on with springs, others have a three bolt flange that the can bolts to....
That's just it, I have never seen a slip on that doesn't necessitate a stock header. Even if it was a bot on, it would use a stock header, hence my response, about stock.
Hey bambam do you think running the m4 headers with the jardine can would be ok? Because the headers are fine but the m4 can has a huge dent in it. The jardine I have is the RT1. It has the 3 bolt flange. Thanks alot for your input.
hey bro, i think that with those parts listed , your jetting will stay very close to rite. the stage one jet kit that is prolly in yer bike will cover just a can or a whole exhast, if you were to mess with the air box or go to individual air cleaners your jetting wood have to change. Ryano , but before you get to happy , make sher your jardine pipe has the same pattern dimension. ive had problems with the Rt1 can not fitting stock 3 hole, however with yers being m4 it mite be the same. either way you can find out in munutes by tryin it, but performance wise i think yool be about the same...peece bro....
