Need a advise for the exhaust
Hi everyone,
I am new guy on board, today had a problem to choice the exhaust for my 2004 rr. So I hope all experts on board can give me some advice. Arrow, Yoshimura and Akrapovic, which one works better? Should I go slip-on or the full system?

You left off the best one... two brothers.
Just kidding, that's what I went with. Full vs. slip on depends on what you want/need and how deep your pockets are. For about double the price a full system gives you less weight and more HP. Now here's where the argument starts... some claim the full system will cause you to loose HP lower in the RPM range. Do the research and form your own opinion on that one.
I'd have to roughly say... HP isn't the big concern with most street riders. A slip on will give you around 3 to 5 extra HP while full system maybe takes you up to the 10 area. More or less. Don't expect to jump on your bike with either and think DAMN!!!!
Sound and looks are the primary reasons most of us change our exhaust. I can speak personally about my 05 600RR. I think the claimed HP is around 103 to 105 depending on who you ask and mine pulled just under 110 on a dyno with slip on, PC III usb and K&N filter.
As for which system/slip on is better, again, looks and sound will be your choice. All slip on and systems will perform just about the same... better than stock. You have to read the specs on what you're looking at. Most, if not all, slip on use a 2.25" straight through design so all that is different is the looks/sound part. Now with FS, you'll have different header designs and so on to deal with, that you'll have to do more research on.
One thing that is a must for me is carbon fiber. One thing that holds true to all exhaust designs is, the more heat you trap and send out the rear, the better results you'll have. Plus it keeps more heat off the tail/plastics.

just to throw som more info. out there for you.
adding an aftermarket system can give you lower hp numbers BUT how many of us are hanging out around 3k?
if you compare a quality slipon against the full system you will get better low and midrange numbers with the slipon. full systems lean more towards top end hp numbers.
simply put, if you ride on the street then a slip will work just fine for you. if you race in any form then a full system will work better for you.
