I have done plenty of "custom" projects myself and I have done them correctly. Of course the skills needed have came from the last couple years of school for mechanical engineering. The people who do the custom motor swaps and other innovative projects know what they're doing and how to do it safely so there is no need for "can it be done".

Most of the people wanting to do the odd swaps is not for the creativity, but rather the cheapest possible way to go faster willing to take shortcuts to get there.

well in my case I have a 600rr with a bad engine and can get a 1000rr engine and most all related gear way cheaper than a replacement 600 engine so now i am looking for someone to say they have done it without also buying a 1000rr frame to make it happen that's all the motivation I need to get the project under way

Simple answer..................NO
Frame won't carry the weight/power
Shocks etc designed for 600 NOT 1000

Put the right engine in it (a motor is electric an engine runs on petrol)
Then sell it and buy a 1000RR if you want one - don't try to make a 1000 out of a 600 you'll be sorry.

FWIW

The 929/954 motors wont bolt in. The motor is held in completely different in those. Ive heard a 04-06 1000rr motor can fit in an f4i with bolting in in the back. The top motor mount would have to be moved. I dont know for sure though never tried.
