I have a 1992 CBR 600 F2. I was wondering what other engines I could fit in the bike. I ws looking at a 2005 cbr 600rr engine. Would I need to do a lot of fabricating to get it to fit. Also would it take lot of extra parts. Thanks. Jeff

 

You and I are on the same rock. I have the same bike.
It has been difficult trying to get info on the possibility to do an engine swap to a FI engine. I do know that people have been doing FI conversions using Mega Squirt. I'm just not at the point of doing that kind ofjob yet.
However I would say if you can get your hands on a spare engine that you are looking into swapping with I would count that some fabrication will be necessary being that the frame engine mounting points more than likely won't be the same.

 

600rr engine into an f2 is pretty much imposslbe. it could be done but you could buy an rr for the price. i would suggest a 900rr swap. im looking into swapping a 919 w/fi. but i dont think it will fit.

 

900rr will fit you have to make a couple of mounts. I think you can then swap the 900rr over to FI with all the parts off a 929rr but I am not sure on that never done it.

 

i'm not too familar with the f2 but the f4 can be swapped over to fi very easily...so if an f4 engine would fit easily the f4i is pretty much the same thing. (head and management is diff...but same other than that)
