Power commader?
Hey, I know nothing about the Power commander. The little I have read seems like something I would want. I have an 07 cbr1000 Repsol. Im not pplanning on doing any major mods. Maybe air box. This looks like a smart move for all performance aspects for a bike. Is it something you an play around without screwing up your bike? Thanks
the powercommander smooths up the air fuel curve even for a stock bike. it takes a pro to tune it though. you run the risk of leaning out the mixture and burning something if you dont know what you are doing.
it helps even more if you go to aftermarket exhausts, filters, and then into engine mods because you can fine tune the air fuel curve on a dyno to get maximum potential out of each part

I have one on my 05 600RR. Love it. Still using the free downloaded map from their web site. I checked into have a custom map setup and it was going to cost me around 300 to 400. WTF....
I found a powercommander booth at a track and they were doing three pulls on their dyno AND... custom tuning for $60. More in my "I see fit to pay" range. They did the three pulls and didn't touch the bike. No tunning needed. My bike would have been soooo easy because of the PC III. All they had to do is plug in the laptop and press a few keys. I watched them work their butts off trying to tune the custom choppers so I know they were not being lazy.

yes do it! i did one on my 06 and am running the dynojet map for the stock exhaust. very noticeable difference in the midrange of the bike afterword. if you have not done it yet do the flapper mod at the same time. it is idea due to needing to pull the mid fairing off and it allows you to neatly tuck the plugged tube out of site. and by all means do it your self. it took me about an hour and 15 minutes.
if you cant afford a map yet,
1000rr.net has a map database that has about 20 maps available for download that will be good for 90% of everyone out there. granted your bike will not run to its total potential unless the map was made specifically for it
