Default I installed Power Pilots

Installed new Power Pilots today with the tools shown, less a homemade bead breaker. Balanced them at home and saved a ton. I was quoted 500 from a bike shop and I got 270 into to whole job, well plus some sweat. Anyone have ideas on pressures for the tires.

tire pressure depends on where you ride
street cruising oem pressure is fine

street canyon carving 32/36

track
30/29

at least that is where i put mine at. the michelin rep the last time i did a track day told me that after you come back to the paddock immediatly check your tire pressure, it should be around 5psi over what it was cold. more than 5 means you had too little air
less than 5 meant you had too much

these are the pressure that met those standards

Good info- Thanks Baxsom. I was running with too much pressure in my tires.

Thanks for the pressure info, that's pretty much what I run. The job was suprisingly easy, just took about 4 hours to do.

WTF! [:@]That is a serious rip! Is that including the price of tires? Even so, that's a huge rip!
Dealers around here charge $25 per wheel to mount tires if you bring in the wheel. $50 per tire if you bring the whole bike in. Even tire prices are comparable to online stores.

I think you should throw a brick through their window for being asswipes.

Anyway, good job on the tire swap. Next time will be easier. Are the only special tools the bead breaker and irons? Get any scratches on the wheels or anything? Did you just run a rod through the wheel for balancing? I'd like to do my own at some point.

i got my pilot powers for 200 bucks mounted at cycle gear

worse case by them from superbike supply and pay someone to mount for you
still cheaper than 500 bucks

I did unfortunatly get a couple small scratchs on the rear wheel. Gonna get some touch up paint this week, any tips on how to avoid this.
