I just did mine last night and the 06 is different than the 05 the plate with two phillips screws on the exhaust is the same but the controller is behind the battery. Take the cables off at the exhaust first then follow them to the controller and there is a couple of screws on top you have to take off to get the cover off and then you can disconnect the cables. Hope this helps, i know i had the same question and all the help pages and the instructions refer to the cables on the left side of the motor, ain't the case with my 06. Let me know how it worked out for you.

Hello, I am from France!
I look for information to empty the inside of the exhaust!
Have you a drawing representing the various details composing the exhaust of 1000 rr of 2006?

Also don't remove the servo motor, you will get the check engine light. Just remove the cables. And the cover comes off at the bottom, i just opened it enough to get a pair of needle nose in and removed the cables.

That wants to say " cables ", they are electric cords or it is the other thing, I do not understand? Because if cables is electric, what I search it is to empty the exhaust so that the air is not any more retained
