Recently removed passanger pegs. When doing so you loose the upper mounting hole for the black plastic side exhaust heat shield cover.What have others done to secure it? Was thinking of leaving it off altogether and painting or powdercoating the aluminum heat shield.

Who has a Puig DB windscreen on thier 1k. Does it make a difference at highway speed? If not I am going to just paint the stock screen to get the smoke look.

I made a bracket out of aluminum that goes from the top heat shield bolt to the top plastic shield bolt.

 

the puig double bubble is awsome! ps. the black 1k's are the fastest, dont let anyone tell you different.

 

I too made a bracket out of aluminum. Painted it satin black and ditched the aluminum guard all together.
