Idle, Fuel Gauge, and Heat

Idle, Fuel Gauge, and Heat
Managed a couple of hours on the bike yesterday, good stuff.
Just a couple of questions on whether They All Do That, Sir:
1. The idle is 1100rpm, which is line with the figures I found using a Search on here. But it stutters slightly, sounding a bit like a bull panting through it's nostrils. Seems like character to me, but does it indicate it's running slightly rough?
2. It heats up pretty quickly, and the fan kicks in. Admittedly, I ended up in city centre traffic for a while, so it may have just been that.
3. I put 10 litres in the tank and the gauge went from almost Reserve to Full, and stayed there. This can't be right can it?
cheers, Ray

Correctamundo ranchome indeed it does and the sender from a mark 3
reaches all the way back to the low point where the petcock is the
Mark 2 only reaches half the way back and does not descend low enough
and so reads empty when there is still 1 1/2 to 2 gals left , 6 or 7 litres
