Need advice after my first track day!!!

If you don't mind getting passed in the straights (and a few corners) a 250 is a fine track bike. The 250 will be cheaper to run since tires are cheaper and last longer.
Depending on your skill level tires will last a couple of weekends, so you could buy a good set of DOTs and be good to go for a few track days (assuming they are track only tires).
The biggest cost is registration and getting to the track after you have all the gear and stuff you want to take with you. How much safety gear do you have?

Some Guy your right about tires. Remember last time at Putnam me toasting the front tire on the 2nd day. Sad that it happened when we still had one more session. Still can't figure how I saved it the first time it started sliding out on me going into T10. I do remember thinking about the wall.
