why?
I don't buy that for everyone. There are stunters and racers and riders that know their pleasure / income is directly linked to staying healthy in a potentially very unhealthy sport. A lot of the other type seem to think it displays how tough and rebellious they are to eschew gear. And take whatever lumps they get (hence showing off the rash in pics).
Preference for me. I wear jeans, t-shirt, ICON vest, helmet and gloves and skater shoes (thick). But I never did high speed stuff, always slow, technical stuff in the parking lot so when you fall off it's like falling off of a bicycle. You push the motorcycle away from you and just tuck and roll. When I was first learning though I wore my leather jacket.
