i had mine for about a month then i started learnin sit downs just ridin it a short distance, then i got into powering it up standing in first. Then i tried powering it up in second but decided it was a waste of time after i tried clutching it up once and realized how easily it comes up. Now i've been doin stand up 2nds for about 3 days. I can ride it out from 50-80 mph but im trying to learn to slow it down and reach the bp....don't rush anything though it definately takes time

I waited a season. Mainly because my first bike was a Katana, and I was scared as hell to pull up the front wheel. Youre suppose to rev the thing to like 13, then totally dump it from at 5mph to get the 50 horses to pop it up. I was too damn scared til this season when I got a bike with enough extra power.

started doing sit down wheelies in 1st gear a couple weeks after buying my CBR929, eventually got comfortable with the sitdown wheelies after last summer, and last week I started praticing stand up wheelies, left foot on passenger peg, right foot covering the brake, allmost got it steady at the balance point but I still run out of gear so I need to bring the bike a little higher. make sure you always consiously think about hitting the rear brake, when you go past the balance point your first instinct is to bail out because it feels like you are going to flip over, just tap on your rear brake, it will bring you back to safty, its scary as hell the first few times that happens. first pratice on a dirt bike if you can, i have flipped over my dirt bikes hundreds of times, and never got more than a few bruises.

If you just practice throwing that dirtbike way back and catching it with the brake it will help you so much when you apply that to the big bike. I rode my friends crf150 for awhile when my bike was broke and it helped alot

Got my bike in march, and over the last couple of weeks i have been doing sit downs and stand ups in 2nd. (clutching and powering) and did some powering up in 3rd but didnt like it much. maybe after a change from the stock sprockets i'll clutch 3rd. but i am happy with learning what i know for now.
