Default 2nd gear trouble

Ok guys so some one advice me lol

I dont do wheelies in traffic I always do it when im by myself away from everyone so I dont hurt anyone now that, thats out of the way

I can get wheelies in 1st gear easy Clutch it up

2nd I cant get it up for anything and im not afraid of the rpms, I usually cruise about 5k rpms and rev it just to where ever and it hadnt been working so I got it to the rev limiter and stil nothing it wants to come up but it doesnt I even lean back on it

Does it help to stand up or anything cause I know alot of people do stand ups....

thanks

You can clutch up 2nd gear sitting down. The higher in the RPM's you are, the easier it will come up. I don't know what bike you're running, but my 600rr comes up easy sitting down at about 50-55 mph. Don't know what exact RPM that is, I just listen and feel the bike. Second gear stand ups are really easy IMO, on my RR at about 45mph, I can just stand up, bounce the suspension and power it right up. Good luck, wear your gear and keep us posted.

Hey Troy.

I have 3 answers for you.

1) go +2 on the rear sprocket. I had the same problems. After putting +2 on the rear that bike will come up even in 3rd!
2)2nd gear wheelie require a little more clutch on standard sprockets. So instead of just pulling the clutch in and out like in 1st rather hold it in for about 1 second then let go. Or try for about 1.5seconds, so that the revs can build up
3) easiest way for me was just to clutch it up in 1st then change while up. Get the bike up in 1st then feather change into 2nd by just touching the clutch while changing. Just be careful in the begining as you wont be used to the power in 2nd gear

Hope this helps

More gas, let the clutch out faster. If it disengages to slow it's less likely to come up.
I was clutching up in second between 15 and 20 mph on the 929. You can get it as slow as 30mph on a stock 600.

Ok well I think my clutch might be starting to go out im not sure

But anyway I thought it rode quite hard, so I had a friend check it (im still new to bikes stuff) the suspension is set up quite hard.... Like max'd out on Hard

So obviously I dont want that I weigh 160 can I have someone set it up for my weight

The suspension set to hard will effect it.you dont want to be to high in the rpm range before you clutch it or you wont have any rpms to build up. Its been awhile since I clutched a sitdown up but I run it up to about 7k clutch and full throttle and it should be about balance point.

wait wait, why would a hard suspension cause this problem? maybe i'm f***ing up on my physics but a harder suspension will absorb less force and come off the ground easier, where a soft suspension will absorb more.

Maybe I have it backwards, (hey i got "C's" in school but my physics teacher had double D's, so what could I do)

Still adjust the suspension, check tire pressure and maybe give it alittle more ***** .
