2nd gear stand ups

2nd gear stand ups
for those of you doing sit down wheelies in second gear, give them a try standing up if you haven't. So much smoother, bike comes up smooth like a plane lifting off. Easier to hold it up and control it, also easier to bring it back down. Looks cooler too. If you can pull second gears sitting down, you should be able to pull nice standups. They're fun.

RE: 2nd gear stand ups
I agree the first time i did stand ups i was impressed with how much easier they were, plus you can actually see where your going. I like doing them staggered i think its a hundred times better. Staggered is with your left foot on the passenger peg and right foot covering the brake give it a try if you havent already

RE: 2nd gear stand ups
Anyone with vids yet? I'd ike to see how you guys are doing it. I can ride sitdowns in 2nd for a long time, but standups still scare the hell out of me LOL. I have tried to power it up in 2nd in a stand up and can get the front to come up about 12" then I set it back down. I don't clutch my 2nd gear wheelies, but I do clutch my 1st gear ones. Mabye I'll have to try clutching in 2nd and see how that feels. What speed are you clutching 2nd? I'm down on in the front and can power it up in 2nd but I bring it up at about 60-65 then I don't have much gear left tro get it under control. Ok I guess thats it for now

RE: 2nd gear stand ups
I have a 2000 F4 and when Im doing my 2nd gear sit downs I get going and when I reach 7,000 RPM's while accelerating slip the clutch and Im up in the air. I dont have to rev it up to 13,000rpm to get it up at all. Try just accelerating and at 7 or 8 grand slip the clutch with one finger and it should come up. I gonna try stand ups tomorrow. thanks for the advice on stand ups, but when staggered doesnt your passenger foot peg want to fold up? mine does and I heard from some R1 riders it does as well.
