Some progress on the F3
I bought this thing in pieces... and it's now in more pieces. Put on a 600rr race tail, hooked up the f4i gauges to make sure everything works right, bolted up the header, started to strip the tank but the paint is kicking my ***.
I still need to get an f4i upper so I can mount it and the lowers, put the new radiator on, finish the wheels, then prep everything for paint. After that its just throwing on some Pilot Powers and a 520 chain kit. What do ya'll think?

RE: Some progress on the F3
Yea the 600rr tail sliped right on, I was surprised. This is an aftermarket tail, it has the side pieces molded into it, unlike a stock 600rr which has black plastic pieces. I don't have the rear supported yet, I don't think I need to do much, I may have to make a bracket, but I think I can bolt it to some holes already there. The front part, where the seat is, had two mounting tabs moulded into the shape, and they just so happened to line up with two holes in the frame right above the battery box, so thats where the front it bolted to. I was scared this tail would need a lot to make it fit, but I got lucky.
As for the exhaust, I'm going to run it undertail, like a 600rr. I've found some pics of other f2/f3s with undertail exhaust, so I don't think it will be too hard to make it work. I just have to cut the collector off my header, so it'll be a 4 into 2, then run two small pipes under the tail.

To get that stubborn paint off.......
Get a sanding pad for a drill (you can get the pad at Autozone), and get some stick-on sanding circles (also at Autozone). I would use 150 - 200 grit for that metal, and go at it. I sanded my entire car to bare metal (the ENTIRE car) with a crap load of sanding circles (I bought a few boxes of them at Lowes) and 1 drill (which I burned out-it was a 10.00 drill anyway). You should only need a MAX of 5 sanding circles.
Hope that helpls.

Yea I got smart and finally got some sanding drill attachments. I'll probably finish the stripping next week, no time now. The seat is a towel right now, haha, still waiting on a 600rr seat to come in the mail. The tail section was from ebay, name "fdirep". The first one I got (the tail in the pic) came in the mail wrapped in some paper, not in a box. So of course it was trashed, all cracked up and what not. Anyways, he sent me some cash to return it, and is mailing me a new one. Hopefully it will be in better shape.
