Saddlesore 1000 ride pics (lots!!) 1-13-07
So I met up with a couple buddies yesterday, Kurt ('04 CBR 1000RR), Gabriel ('98 CBR 600 F3), and myself went on a saddlesore 1000 ride this weekend up to Albany, GA. For anyone unfamiliar with what that is, it's 1000 miles in 24 hours, and you get a little plaque and some other stuff from the Iron Butt Association. So I got up at 3am sat morning, met up with Kurt and Gabriel around 4, and after having to go to a different gas station to find someone that a) spoke english, and b) would sign our documents as a witness showing that we were there and that time (for the starting point of the ride). Found a guy that helped us out, and we were on the road by 5:00. Rode up to Albany, GA. We got there late afternoon, went to Wendys to eat, then made our way back home. I ain't gonna lie it was a rough ride home... fatigue was really starting to set in as the night went by, and we still had a good 6 hours before we were home. It was a loooong ride back, that's for sure! Finally got home at 3 am sun morning, COMPLETELY exhausted. Went straight to bed and didn't wake up until 2:00 this afternoon. All in all, still had a great time with some great friends.... always a good thing
Anyways, enjoy!
1st stop in Clewiston
About 20 mins later just north of Clewiston in Moore Haven. I had wanted to pull over a take some pics as the sun was coming up, but this particular stop was kinda unplanned. Got pulled over by the popo for 29 over (64 in a 35...oops![:@] I honestly didn't realize the 35 speed zone started when it did.. must have missed the sign ). He was really cool though and just gave me a warning and said slow down coming into the little towns along here. Told us to have a nice day and went on his way. But just my luck, it was right as the sun was coming up so I took a few pics while we were there! Not the greatest spot to take pics though
I forgot what town this was, but another stop along the way
We were in the nosebleed part of Florida [sm=icon_rofl.gif]
Definitely not in SoFla no more, LOL
Okahumphka (sp?) service plaza, last one before it merges onto I-75... Taking a little break and getting some lunch
Me
Gabriel
Kurt
Quick nap at a rest area along I-75
Had to find something to do to pass the time during his napping

Awesome ride!
I've got to ask though...
What do you do for a living, and is that a stock seat you're riding on?

To answer your question, I'm an auto/diesel technician for Ford. I work at a dealership up in West Palm Beach. I'm certified in everything and do a little of everything, but mostly do the diesels. They're a PITA to work on but they're blowing up all the time, so job security for me! The seat is indeed a stock seat, though it will be gone in about a week. I'm doing the split seat tail swap from a 2003 F4i. Actually bought all the parts off somebody on here. Dropped the tail off at my buddies house today to get painted, he's gonna do it this week and I should have it back by this next weekend. Definitely won't be as comfy as this seat though, so I had to get one last long trip in on the comfy seat, hahah. I have a gut feeling I'm gonna be buying a Corbin before too long [:@]
