Noise, being too close to one's summer cottage, some activist finds some super rare spotted butted whistling snail and the entire area is declared a sanctuary... things like that usually topple projects like this. Finns do not like to be disturbed and are pretty keen complainers so it is a bit of a miracle none was left.

Will be a huge boost to the area's economy of that I'm sure... and it's a bit over half an hour from my doorstep the track fees will probly sting but all the other tracks are pretty far away and this will be much longer and faster than the rest.

 

Where I work we were beginning construction on a new campus and it was delayed because there was a certain species of bat in the area and it was their mating season. We had to wait until they were done doing the deed before we could start turning dirt.

 

Haha, a campus? Now that doesn't surprise me....

Say you want $50million for an underground underpass for turtles so they don't have to cross the highway, no one bats an eye. Say you want a racetrack and everyone loses their frickin' minds.

 

Might favour the bikes with the highest top speed, with slower bikes/riders battling to get past through the curves, only to be re-passed on the long straight.
