Yes it was time to retire the old Grumman on something up to date. (Bet you thought I was talking about a bike)
This is a 16' 6" Kipawa built by Swift Canoe & Kayak. It has an asymmetrical kevlar hull and is well under 50lbs. Hopefully there are some people out there who enjoy tripping as much as I do.
Here are a few pics of my new toy. Just got back yesterday from this family trip to Temagami Ontario.
My cousin and I
River between Mountain L. and Thieiving Bear L.
Last day got some rain. But hey, I'm still away from work and I found a stray beer in my pac.

Hahaha I guess I'm just reckless. Not to worry though, there are always two life jackets in the boat.
Voodoo, you'd be most welcome, but it's not always like that, I'm just lucky to have good friends and family. As far as fish go there are all sorts. A few varieties of trout, large and small mouth bass, and plenty of pike. I'm not much of a fisherman, in fact my young cousin in the canoe with me was the only one of the six to bring a rod. He caught two bass but only one was big enough to eat.
And Boxing Day...... I'll have to ask my mom, she'll know. I always thought it was to "box" up all the crappy gifts to exchange them for the crap you really wanted.
