Oh you have missed out Matti,

Seeing and hearing it in the flesh at Phillip Island GP track was mind blowing

Cheers, SB

Not sure about official awards... but I know it's one of the most revered motorcycles ever built by just about everyone in the motorcycling community. Here's another vid

That trellis kit looks great - but I can't find a cost for it anywhere.. I can't help but think I could buy a couple other bikes for what the frame kit costs.

But hey - when you spend $30k on a bike....

Speaking of Trellis frames. Anyone see this 954?

This idea came out with the 954 in 2002. Then BottPower started making racing bikes (they make frames and motorcycles for motor now), so this bike went on the back burner. However, last year, they said they were going to continue with it. I hope they actually build it, finally.

BottPower Morlaco! Look it up!

Wonder what material is that front end, looks like a whole lot of unsprung mass in the steering to me... Being different is cool but only to the point where it becomes the point...

a few loose points for the silicone Samco hoses in the coolant

Top Gear: Britten V1000 Racing Motorcycle - YouTube
Deeply amazed and humbled by these videos, and by John Britten's fortitude and courage.

The world lost a pioneer in him. The ultra-conservative Japanese would have had to respond aggressively to Britten's amazing engineering by creating something to compete with his work.

Where would we be today if he had lived? Carbon-fibre frames, equal-length headers, minimal unsprung weight, dual-purpose everything.

Nice on board vid of a NZ Britten.
Notice how the front wheel lifts with almost a hydraulic look. Simply amazing bike

Awesome vid Kiwi! I'd be terrified to ride that bike at a snail's pace just going in a straight line, let alone giving 'er a go on a real track. I mean... there were only ever 10 made... I don't know how many are left though...

They all still survive Conrice, I have seen the beautiful example that is in New Zealand's National Museum a few times. The majority of the rest of them reside in the US; in the hands of collectors who have obviously got too much money.

FYI: http://thekneeslider.com/britten-for-sale/

That says a lot if you think about it! Show me another race bike from that era where they ALL survived. That'd almost make me even more scared to be the first one who destroyed one.
